Admission Process

Admission notification will be released in leading newspapers shortly after the announcement of the Karnataka State Board (SSLC) results. 

Application Form: The application form may be obtained online or from the Principal’s office 

Filled in application must be submitted on or before the last date through online /manually /by post addressed to: - 

The Principal, 

Sandur Polytechnic, 

Yeshwantnagar 583124, 

Sandur, Bellary District.

Admissions will be based on combined merit in the qualifying exam (Karnataka SSLC/equivalent) and entrance examination conducted by Sandur Polytechnic. 

Entrance Examination & Counselling:

  • A 90-minute test in Mathematics and Science (equal weightage), based on Std 10 syllabus. 
  • Date of entrance examination will be published in the admission notification. 
  • Short listed candidates will be subjected to an oral test & counselled to offer a suitable course 

Documents Required

Originals of the following documents should be submitted at the time of admission for approval by the Department of Technical Education, Bangalore. 

  1. SSLC/equivalent Marks Card. 
  2. Transfer Certificate from the Institute last attended. 
  3. Minimum 5 years’ study certificate (countersigned by the Concerned Block Education Officer) 
  4. Caste, Income and Domicile (signed by the Tahsildar) Certificate for SC/ST students.
  5. Eligibility & Migration Certificate (for CBSE/ ICSE/Non-Karnataka students only) 
  6. Physical Fitness certificate (issued by a competent medical practitioner) 
  7. In addition to these documents, 5 stamp size photos and a copy of Adhaar card are required to be submitted.

Eligibility

  • Pass in SSLC or equivalent exam.
  • Candidates with less than 5 years of schooling (from Stds 1-10 equivalent) in Karnataka will come under General Merit Category. 
  • Reservation is applicable to Karnataka candidates only. 
  • There is a branch-wise ceiling of 20% of intake for students from outside Karnataka. 
  • Candidates educated under CBSE, ICSE or other boards should produce an ‘Eligibility Certificate’ issued by the Board of Technical Examinations, Directorate of Technical Education, Bangalore.
