Admission FAQ

• Admission notification will be released in leading newspapers shortly after the announcement of the Karnataka SSLC results. 

• Application Form: The application form may be obtained online or from the Principal’s office. The link to download the application form:

• Filled in application must be submitted on or before the last date through online /by hand /by post addressed to: The Principal, Sandur Polytechnic, Yeshwantnagar 583124, Sandur, Ballari District.

• Admissions will be based on combined merit in the qualifying exam (Karnataka SSLC/equivalent) and entrance examination conducted by Sandur Polytechnic. 

• Entrance Examination & Counseling: A 90-minute test in Mathematics and Science (equal weightage) is conducted based on 10th Std syllabus. 

• Date of entrance examination will be published in the admission notification. 

• Short listed candidates will be subjected to an oral test & counselled to offer a suitable course

• Candidates should have passed Karnataka S.S.L.C or equivalent examination by securing 35% marks in aggregate.

• Candidates should have completed at least five full academic years of study in Karnataka between 1st standard and qualifying examination to be considered as Karnataka student.

• Candidates who have passed the 10th Standard Exam conducted by CBSE/ICSE and other states shall produce Eligibility Certificates obtained from the Secretary, Board of Technical Examinations, Palace Road, Bangalore – 560 001 

• Candidates with less than 5 years of schooling (from Std 1-10 equivalent) in Karnataka will come under General Merit Category. 

• There is a branch-wise ceiling of 20% of intake for students from outside Karnataka. 

• SSLC/equivalent Marks Card 

• Transfer Certificate from the Institute last attended 

• Minimum 5 years’ study certificate (countersigned by the concerned Block Education Officer). 

• Caste, Income and Domicile Certificate (signed by the Tahsildar) for SC/ST students.

• Eligibility & Migration Certificate (for CBSE/ ICSE/Non-Karnataka students only) 

• Physical Fitness certificate (issued by a competent medical practitioner) 

• In addition to these documents, 5 stamp size photos and a copy of Adhaar card   to be submitted.

All Diploma programs are of a  three year duration.

All the branches are core technical branches in the emerging areas having very good opportunities for higher education and lucrative jobs. Candidate can opt for any branch of his/her interest. 

Yes, there are 3 hostel for boys and 2 for girls

Yes, the campus has a dispensary that provides free primary health care for students and staff. A vehicle is available for students who need to be treated at hospitals in Sandur, Hosapete or Ballari.
