Basic Electronics Lab

The practical aspects of fundamentals of Electronics are learnt in this Lab. Starting with the identification of electronic devices and equipment/instruments, students are trained on testing of electronic devices and circuits using equipment/instruments such as CROs, Function Generators, Power Supplies, Multimeters and all types of electronic testing instruments.

This computer lab has  resources to impart knowledge of MS Office, Programming in Python and Java. It is also used for analysing and developing optimised programs using data structure and algorithms.

Working on different engineering machines will enhance the skills of an individual. It also makes Diploma Engineers ready for supervising production processes to achieve targets and optimal utilization of resources.

Survey Practice Lab

Surveying practice makes student become familiar and competent to measure distance, elevation, height of inaccessible objects, gradient & draw map using suitable scale by utilizing different surveying instruments like auto level, theodolite, global positioning system (GPS), Ceylon ghat tracer, total station etc. Surveying lab is well equipped with Optical square, Open & French cross staff, Prismatic & surveyors’ compass, Abney level & Ceylon Ghat Tracer, Digital Planimeter, Auto level, Manual & Electronic Theodolite, GPS device and Total Station.

This Lab plays a crucial role in helping students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications of electrical machines. It enables the students to gain a deeper understanding of single phase and 3 phase machines that helps them prepare for real-world challenges in the field of electrical engineering. The laboratory is equipped with AC and DC machines along with conventional and modern equipment including power quality analyser.

Engineering drawing is the language of engineers. There are certain set of rules to be followed while representing the technical ideas in to drawing.

The spacious library named as Bodhi has over 25,000 books, both academic and general. The library is open for 10 hours on all working days during the academic session.

Housekeeping staff ensure that the hostels and surroundings are kept clean and hygienic. The hostels are surrounded by greenery with large number of shade trees and lawns with flowering plants that make the stay in hostel comfortable and conducive for studies.
